This is the most interdisciplinary pillar that stretches the chronological reach to contemporary times. The objective is to examine the place of Trianon and the idea of revision in foreign policy thinking, historiography, literature and memory politics (for example by analysing the Trianon Museum at the town of Várpalolta). At the same time,  we will study historiography of neighbouring states (and what were other comparable traumas that impacted them during the 20th century and if they were similar to 1920). Moreover, it is our objective to create a database about the representations of Trianon at public squares. There will be several opinion surveys framing this theme. There will be one large sample survey and two focus group based, qualitative study about the picture that Hungarian high school students, university students and history teachers have about Trianon. Team members responsible for this pillar: Gergely Romsics (political discourses, currently Hungarian Cultural Centre, New York), Flóra Mészáros (memory at public spaces, Centre for Humanities, Gáspár Károli University), Réka Krizmanics (historiography, Central European University), Balázs Bazsalya (sociology, contemporary memory), Csaba Zahorán (neighbouring countries, Centre for Humanities, ELTE University).
