The latest issue of the quarterly journal published by the Institute of History, Research Centre for the Humanities (RCH) is fresh out of the press with a focus on the peace treaty.

Published under the title Trianon: Collapse 1918–1921 this year’s first issue of The Hungarian Historical Review is edited by Balázs Ablonczy, project leader of the Trianon 100 Momentum Research Group. In his essay “It Is an Unpatriotic Act to Flee”: The Refugee Experience after the Treaty of Trianon. Between State Practices and Neglect Ablonczy maps the policies adopted by the Hungarian state in its efforts to integrate and pacify the more than 400.000 people seeking refuge in Hungary after the collapse of the Habsburg Monarchy.

The article Addressing the Trianon Peace Treaty in Late Socialist Hungary: Societal Interest and Available Narratives, written by Trianon 100 researcher Réka Krizmanics provides an overview of the dynamics of late socialist science policy pertaining to the national question and the different discourses about the Treaty of Trianon that emerged during this period.
